Empowering Youth through English: NBC Hosts “The Language of Products” Workshop on Digital Transformation

In alignment with the 2025 Youth Union Work Plan and to foster a strong learning culture among young professionals, National Numbering and Barcodes Center (NBC) successfully organized its May English-themed workshop titled “The Language of Products: From Barcodes to Digital Transformation.” The event aimed to enhance the English proficiency of Youth Union members and strengthen their understanding of product coding systems in the era of digital integration.

The workshop welcomed the participation of key leaders, including Mr. Bùi Bá Chính, Acting Director of National Numbering and Barcodes Center (NBC); Ms. Trần Hải Ninh, Secretary of the Youth Union of Commission for the Standards, Metrology and Quality of Viet Nam (STAMEQ); and Ms. Đỗ Thu Hương, Secretary of National Numbering and Barcodes Center (NBC) Youth Union.
Mr. Bùi Bá Chính, Acting Director of National Numbering and Barcodes Center (NBC) shared insights on the development journey of barcodes in the digital transformation era and their critical role in the global supply chain.
This specialized English session was designed with several objectives: to improve the use of technical English in professional contexts, create an engaging environment for language practice, deepen knowledge of barcodes and product identification systems, and promote collaboration and a continuous learning spirit among Youth Union members.
The event attracted a significant number of young staff and Youth Union members from across the Commission. Participants were not only able to practice their English communication skills but also engage in in-depth discussions on practical knowledge and real-world applications of barcodes, data systems, and their role in global supply chains.
The workshop’s program featured a dynamic blend of professional presentations, interactive activities, and team-based challenges. Core content revolved around the evolution of barcode technology in the context of digital transformation and its critical importance in ensuring product safety and efficiency in international commerce.
Highlights of the event included knowledge-based mini games, group competitions, and open discussion sessions. These activities were designed to build teamwork skills, encourage creative thinking, and inspire a proactive approach to global integration among participants.
The event concluded successfully, providing a meaningful and practical learning platform for young professionals within the organization.
