STAMEQ Strengthens Cooperation with Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR)

On the morning of April 3, the Commission for the Standards, Metrology and Quality of Viet Nam (STAMEQ) hosted a working session with the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR).
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ha Minh Hiep, Acting Director-General of STAMEQ, Dr. Kim Huyn Cheol, President of KTR, along with representatives from: Metrology Department, International Cooperation Department, Vietnam Certification Centre (QUACERT) and Vietnam Metrology Institute (VMI).
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views and highly appreciated the achievements in cooperation over the past period in the fields of certification, testing, and conformity assessment. These achievements have been facilitated through information exchange, training programs, and the provision of technical equipment.
As part of the discussions, the two sides also explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration in emerging technology areas of interest to Vietnam, including measurement equipment for electric vehicle charging stations, carbon neutrality, secondary battery testing, electrical-electronics, and greenhouse gas emissions control. These fields play a strategic role in driving the green transition, advancing the circular economy, and enabling enterprises to meet the technical requirements of both domestic and international markets.
The STAMEQ leadership expressed sincere gratitude to KTR for its ongoing support and collaboration. In response, the President of KTR reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to working closely with STAMEQ on new cooperation programs, contributing to the development of policies and technical standards for sustainable growth.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing confidence in the continued strong and effective partnership between STAMEQ and KTR. This collaboration is expected to further enhance Vietnam – Korea cooperation in the field of standardization, metrology, and quality.
