Developing social innovation system in Vietnam

Within the framework of cooperation with the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), the Commission for Standards, Metrology and Quality of Vietnam (STAMEQ) in collaboration with APO organized a training course on building social innovation systems with the participation of APO member economies. The training course aims to introduce knowledge and practical experience in designing social innovation ecosystems, improve implementation guidance capabilities and exchange practical lessons for developing social innovation systems. The training course took place from July 1 to 5 in Da Lat City (Lam Dong Province).

Dr. Ha Minh Hiep – Acting Director General of STAMEQ shared content related to standards on innovation management for social innovation systems. With this topic, Dr. Hiep introduced the ISO 56000 standard (a set of standards on innovation management systems) to assess social innovation systems, shared experiences on the capacity to assess innovation to solve social problems at the local level, related to national standards. In addition, APO members also shared many related topics to provide comprehensive knowledge on building a sustainable and effective social innovation ecosystem.

Within the framework of the training course, APO members conducted a field survey of a number of agricultural export production enterprises in Lam Dong province, such as: Vien Son Joint Stock Company (Duc Trong district), VOCo Coffee Company (Lac Duong district) and Da Lat Mushroom Village (Da Lat city).
