As part of the collaboration between the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and ASEAN, the Commission for the Standards, Metrology and Quality of Viet Nam (STAMEQ) coordinates with PTB to organize a regional training course on standardization project management and stakeholder engagement from July 8 to 12, 2024, at the STAMEQ headquarters in Ha Noi. The training course is part of the capacity-building support program for standardization bodies in the countries under the ASEAN Integration Initiative (IAI).
The training course are attended by 15 officials from the national standards bodies of Lao PDR, Cambodia, and Viet Nam. Representing PTB are Mr. Andrej Sbrisny, the PTB Project Coordinator, and Ms. Siglinde Kaiser, PTB’s key expert and the program instructor.

In his opening remarks on July 8, 2024, Acting Director General Dr. Ha Minh Hiep highly appreciated PTB’s support through regional training programs, which help strengthen and enhance the expertise and skills for officials involved in international standardization work in Viet Nam and other ASEAN countries. Considering that STAMEQ is currently implementing the STAMEQ Vision, which focuses on STAMEQ’s people, such training programs by PTB are extremely necessary and meaningful assistance.
Over the next five days, participants will engage in group discussions on various approaches to project management, including traditional management methods based on ISO standards and alternative methods. Participants will also be guided on applying the work breakdown structure method to manage standard development projects and survey tools to improve communication with stakeholders.
