Developing human resources, raising awareness and mindset on productivity

Within the framework of cooperation with the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), on the afternoon of March 6, 2024, took place an meeting with the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ) and the APO Accredited-Bodies Council (APO-AB Council) at STAMEQ headquarter.

For the APO delegates, APO Secretary General, Chairman of the Council, Dr. Indra Pradana Singawinata leds the delegates. Besides, there are representatives from APO Secretariat, APO-AB Council members including leaders of NPOs, government officials, representatives of national accreditation organizations, productivity organizations. The APO-AB Council serves as the highest authority to review progress, make recommendations on how to improve management, and set future directions. Dr. Ha Minh Hiep, Acting Director General of STAMEQ, APO Director for Vietnam represents Vietnam as a member of the APO-AB Council.

Established in 2019, the APO-AB Council undertakes the management and implementation of the APO Certification and Accreditation Program in accordance with international requirements. This is an extremely important activity to enhance and promote APO’s role as a leading international productivity organization in the region. The APO-AB Council will evaluate, review and recognize the capacity and credibility of national productivity organization (NPOs) and other relevant organizations, with a view to building awareness of APO, nurturing and expand the international community of productivity experts, while strengthening APO’s leadership in the region’s productivity sector. In Vietnam, there is also a certification agency recognized by APO, the ViProCB under the Vietnam National Productivity Institute.

At the meeting with STAMEQ, Dr. Indra and the APO-AB Council delegation had the opportunity to exchange and share experiences with agencies of STAMEQ such as STAMEQ’s Youth Union, QUACERT Certification Center, and ViProCB Office. The meeting discussed the future directions of STAMEQ, including developing human resources, raising awareness and mindset about productivity, and launching the productivity movement among the young generation.
