More than a dream

The story begins one morning in Hanoi, where Professor Chien Fu Chen, Tsinghua University (Republic of China, ROC) and Chairman of the Commission for the Standards, Metrology and Quality of Viet Nam (STAMEQ), Dr. Ha Minh Hiep had a conversation about the 1st Productivity Competition for Students with 15 Productivity and Quality Clubs (Club) nationwide participating. From there, they came up with the idea of ​​creating the prize for the Champion team to visit and study at Tsinghua University (ROC).

Champion of the Southern region after successfully surpassing 4 teams in the South, Dong Nai High Technology College (DoHT) won a ticket to Hanoi to compete in the final round with 4 other teams from the North, Central and South. The final round was held at the STAMEQ in December 2024. Once again, DoHT stepped up to the highest podium, opening up opportunities for 5 club members to participate in the youth productivity survey research program from March 10-14, 2025 in ROC, which is the first youth productivity study mission program sponsored by the Asian Productivity Organization (APO).

At Tsinghua University.

Coming to Tsinghua University, Chung Yuan Christian University, the Club members had the opportunity to present their productivity journey to the Universities as well as learn about the excellent academic activities and innovation of Tsinghua University, Chung Yuan Christian University in key fields such as semiconductor industry, AI, recycling,… as well as how they operate student research centers. The club members also proactively raised the issue of cooperation and student exchange between the Universities.Even more surprising, the delegation visited the exhibition area of ​​integrated circuit (IC) innovations of TSMC, the world’s leading IC and semiconductor company, and heard about the development and innovation of ICs as well as improving the competitiveness of young people and nurturing talents in the semiconductor industry.  

Club’s members presented their project to improve productivity for enterprise at Tsinghua University.

At the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), a pioneer in technological advances and a series of practical application studies are preparing to be commercialized in 2027, such as the development of new eye drops for the most convenient treatment of wet macular degeneration and a unique eye drop formula for glaucoma treatment instead of injections as currently required,… 

At the Epoch Foundation, this is the “bridge to promote knowledge-based economy”, the delegation was shared about the development journey, creating a network for global industry-academia cooperation programs, nurturing talent and promoting the development of startups. The students were also encouraged by the Foundation to participate in the Foundation’s startup ideas.

At China Productivity Center (CPC).

The students also learned about the sustainable development model with Chung Tai Recycling Company, Strawberry School, as well as experienced the culture of ROC through visiting Luma’an Restaurant, Huashan 1914 Creative Park.

The final destination of the journey was the China Productivity Center (CPC), which successfully organized this trip. The Vice President of CPC and staff welcomed very warmly and shared about the development strategy and supported Vietnam’s proposal to establish a COE on productivity for young generation and hoped that APO would soon approve so that CPC could also have the opportunity to support young people in training and organizing competitions.  

A very successful trip, bringing the students many emotions, unforgettable experiences, equipping them with luggage and opening up a new vision for the club members to a bright future.
