APO Accreditation Body Council 2025

The APO Accreditation Body Council was established in 2019, with members being leaders of national productivity organizations, government officials, representatives of national accreditation organizations, and industry organizations under the coordination of APO Secretary General – Dr. Indra Pradana Singawinata. This year’s annual meeting was held in Thailand from February 10-11, 2025 with the participation of the APO Secretary General and Council members, following last year’s meeting held in Vietnam.
Established in 2019, the APO-AB Council is responsible for managing and implementing the APO Certification and Accreditation Program in accordance with international requirements. This is an extremely important activity to enhance and promote the role of APO as a leading international productivity organization in the region. The APO-AB Council will evaluate and review, recognize the capacity and credibility of national productivity organizations (NPOs) and other relevant organizations, to build awareness of APO, nurture and expand the international productivity professional community, and strengthen APO’s leadership role in the productivity field in the region. In Vietnam, there is also 1 certification body recognized by APO, which is the ViProCB under the Vietnam National Productivity Institute (VNPI). Dr. Ha Minh Hiep, Acting Director General of the Commission for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ), APO Director of Vietnam, represented as an official member of the Council.


The meeting focused on analyzing the current context and opportunities for clean energy development and digital transformation in Vietnam and other countries, reviewing the process of formation and development of the APO certification body network, proposing development and challenges, and the potential of developing recognized productivity expert certification programs in APO member economies and the region for priority areas, especially in the field of greenhouse gas inventory, in line with regional and international development trends.
(The Asian Productivity Organization (APO) is an international, intergovernmental, non-profit organization established in 1961. With 21 member economies, APO is the only organization in the Asia-Pacific region that has many activities implemented in member economies to improve productivity, contributing to the sustainable socio-economic development of the region. Vietnam officially became an APO member on January 1, 1996. With the permission of the Prime Minister, STAMEQ under the Ministry of Science and Technology is the permanent representative at APO, the focal point for organizing the implementation of APO programs and projects, bilateral projects with APO member national Productivity Organizations.)
