STAMEQ receives and works with ASTM experts

On September 7 2018, Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ) had a work with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). Attending the work session, on behalf of STAME, there were Mr Nguyen Hoang Linh – Deputy Director General and the representatives from units of STAMEQ. On behalf of ASTM, there were Mrs Terasa J. Cendrowska – Vice chairman of Global Cooperation ASTM, MrTim Brooke – Vice chairman of ASTM Laboratory service and two ASTM partners.

At this work session, two sides discussed and gave cooperation suggestions such as exchanging the experiences about ASTM standards developing process, the role of the related parts on standard developing, the cooperation with institutes, agencies and organizations to develop the standard, training and buildiing the capacity of the members of Viet Nam national standard technical activities board and the experts jointed on standard developing process, especially in the fields as: fuel, gas, textile, construction material, mechanical…; training the experts and tester at the Laboratory

Through the work session, the two sides all hopes to have the cooperation chances about training the proficiency testing courses on the many fields as textile, petrol.. as well as jointing on online training course and considering to develop such course in Viet Nam.
Before that, ASTM mission have also visited and worked with the Ministry of Construction, the Institute of Building Science and Technology, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering with the purpose of exchanging and introducing ASTM’s activities and ASTM services related to the field. construction area.
On the two next days, 13 and 14 September, 2018, STAMEQ is going to corporate with ASTM to hold the training programme on textile in Ho Chi Minh city.
