In the context of increasingly profound international economic integration, productivity and quality are critical factors that determine the competitiveness and sustainable growth of each nation. Numerous studies have also shown that developed countries around the world initiated productivity movements early on and implemented various measures to enhance productivity, particularly in a context where development resources are limited, yet competition and the demand for progress among enterprises and nations are continuously escalating.
In Vietnam, the Government has focused on enhancing productivity and quality as one of the crucial factors for maintaining high and sustainable economic growth. In addition to supporting organizations and enterprises, these decisions also address the target audience of students by expanding training content related to productivity and quality in universities, colleges, vocational schools, and professional training institutions. This includes the establishment of productivity improvement clubs for students and the promotion of communication and advocacy activities concerning productivity.
In addition to supporting organizations and enterprises in enhancing productivity and quality, the Commission for the Standards, Metrology and Quality of Viet Nam (STAMEQ) has recently implemented numerous programs aimed at students. These initiatives include organizing seminars on productivity, promoting communication and dissemination activities regarding productivity in universities, colleges, vocational high schools, and vocational training institutions, as well as providing guidance and support for the establishment of productivity clubs for students at colleges and universities.
With the aim of propagating and raising awareness about quality & productivity, as well as facilitating opportunities for Quality & Productivity Clubs at universities and colleges to exchange experiences and apply productivity tools in practical learning, STAMEQ has organized the ” Knowledge Contest on Quality & Productivity among Students” (ProductiveNOW) 2024. It can be remarked that this is the first contest focused on productivity knowledge for students to be held in Viet Nam.
