Disseminating knowledge about productivity and quality to students with the topic “Overview of productivity” (topic 1)

On October 6, within the framework of Supporting Program for students on Productivity and Innovation activities, The Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ) organized a virtual training session with the topic “Overview of productivity”

Attending the training session were Dr. Ha Minh Hiep – Acting General Director of STAMEQ, Mr. Pham Le Cuong – Deputy Chief of the General Office, Mr. Tran Quoc Dung – Director of Viet Nam Certification Center (QUACERT) and more than 1,000 lecturers, students from 25 national universities and colleges.

At the training session, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh – Quality and Productivity of The Training Centre (QTC) presented an overview of productivity. Accordingly, the management activities of enterprises include PQCDSM, in which, P is understood as high output, high efficiency, high productivity; Q is understood as stability (low error rate), compliance with requirements, high quality level and few customer complaints; C is understood as reasonable cost control: Raw materials; Equipment; Manufacture; Manage; D is understood as correct time; Correct amount; Right location; S is understood as sustainable harmony between workers, businesses, social communities and the environment; M is understood as a good working environment; Pride, Recognized contributions to common development.

The goal of every enterprises is to operate for profit and in order to achieve profit, businesses need to reduce production costs and increase productivity and quality.

During the online training session, Mr. Tuan Anh also gave many practical illustrative examples so that students could grasp lecture information in an easy-to-understand way and absorb knowledge quickly.

Within the framework of the online training session, many students asked questions related to the lesson such as: Does labor productivity show us the level of diligence of a country’s workforce? ; Or why is there a big difference in labor productivity between Vietnam and some other ASEAN countries; Or what if increasing productivity has a negative impact on quality or labor issues and how can this be mitigated?; How are labor productivity and labor intensity affected?… The questions were answered and shared by teachers and experts from STAMEQ to students of universities and colleges.
