Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between VMI and KRISS

From April 22, 2024 – April 25, 2024, Vietnam Metrology Institute (VMI) had a business trip and worked with the Korean Institute of Scientific Research and Standards (KRISS). Dr. Ngo Thi Ngoc Ha – VMI Director is the delegation leader. The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Lee Hong Seong – President of KRISS; Dr. Park Yon-Kyu – Vice Director of KRISS and relevant Heads of Departments.

On this occasion, VMI and KRISS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation relations between the two sides and promote the exchange of scientific and technical knowledge in the field of measurement, as well as improve scientific and technical capacity.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Lee Ho Seong – President of KRISS made a speech to welcome the VMI’s delegation to visit and work with KRISS, as well as expressed his joy about the signing ceremony between the two Institutes.

Dr. Ngo Thi Ngoc Ha also sent her deep thanks to Dr. Lee Ho Seong for the working invitation. She believed that the cooperative relationship between VMI and KRISS could reach new heights under the leadership of Dr. Lee Ho Seong.

Besides, Dr. Ngo Thi Ngoc Ha also expressed the hope that both Institutes would promote specific collaborative activities so that the provisions in the Memorandum of Understanding can be deeply integrated, closely connected, sustainable, and bring opportunities for both sides, and will continue to enhance international cooperation activities such as information exchange, experience sharing, and knowledge about measurement. VMI Director would like to cooperate in some areas such as certified referance material (CRM) production, renewable energy and training activities. With the contents signed in the Memorandum of Understanding, the cooperation activities of VMI and KRISS will continue to open up opportunities to exchange and improve capacity to promote the strengths of both units.

After the MoU signing ceremony, VMI’s delegation had a visit, worked and specialised exchanged between the laboratories: Force and Hardness, Flow Capacity, Standard Production, 5G Network.

The State-level topic: “Research, design, manufacture and integration of high-precision force and torque standard machines used for the measurement field”, led by Mr. Pham Thanh Ha – Head of Force and Hardness Lab. exchanged expertise knowlegde on the design and manufacture of standard equipment, compared the measurement results from the project’s products with Korean standard equipment.
