The 2024 “The Knowledge Contest on Quality & Productivity among Students” in the Southern region of Vietnam Concludes Successfully

On the afternoon of November 29, the Youth Union and Office of Commission for the Standards, Metrology and Quality of Viet Nam (STAMEQ) successfully organized “The Knowledge Contest on Quality & Productivity among Students” in the Southern region of Vietnam.

The contest was attended by Dr Ha Minh Hiep – Acting Director-General of STAMEQ, Mr Nguyen Phu Quoc – Director of the Quality Assurance and Testing Center 2 (QUATEST 2), Mr Pham Le Cuong – Deputy Chief of the Office of STAMEQ and Head of the Competition’s Organizing Committee, Mr Pham Cong Tuc – Deputy Head of the Finance and Planning Department of STAMEQ, Mr Nguyen Anh Triet – Deputy Director of Quality Assurance and Testing Center 3 (QUATEST 3), Ms Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong – Deputy Director of Quality Assurance and Testing Center 4 (QUATEST 4), Ms Tran Hai Ninh – Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Secretary of the Youth Union of STAMEQ.

In his opening speech, Dr. Ha Minh Hiep highlighted that productivity is vital, requiring consistent and continuous effort with no final destination. He emphasized the importance of equipping students with knowledge about productivity and quality, enabling them to enhance their skills, improve work efficiency, and even guide organizations and businesses on productivity-related matters. He expressed his hope that the contest would serve as a new milestone for the student productivity movement nationwide.

The contest comprised three segments: Part 1: Introduction and Warm-Up – Each team had 7 minutes to present, with a maximum score of 120 points; Part 2: General Knowledge – Teams answered 10 questions in 2 minutes, with a maximum score of 100 points; Part 3: Presentation – Teams delivered a 5-minute presentation, with a maximum score of 180 points. Scores for each segment were averaged across the judges’ assessments.

The contest focused on productivity and quality knowledge shared through direct seminars at universities and colleges and online training sessions on productivity improvement tools organised by STAMEQ in collaboration with universities and colleges during 2023–2024. Participants also explored innovative projects to enhance productivity and quality in everyday life, education, and business contexts.

The contest saw enthusiastic participation from students representing quality and productivity clubs of universities and colleges, including Thu Dau Mot University, Binh Duong University, Bac Lieu University, Dongnai College of High Technology, and LILAMA 2 International Technology College.

Quality and productivity clubs from Dongnai College of High Technology and LILAMA 2 International Technology College secured their places in the finals, set to take place on December 27, 2024, in Hanoi.
