Asia/Pacific Regional Conference on Standardization for LED lighting equipment and Smart City

On March 5-6, 2018 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality and IEC Committee for Asia and Pacific and Japan Industrial Standards Committee – JISC had held a Workshop on Standardization for LED lighting equipment and smart city development to popularize the Japanese standard system as well as sharing among countries in the region on the issue.
Attending the workshop, there were Mr. Dennis Chew, IEC Representative for Asia and Pacific, Mr. Mitsuo Matsumoto, representative of Japan Standardization Organization (JISC), and about 50 delegates from National IEC Committees of the countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Viet Nam…
At the workshop, the representatives of the countries, organizations presented on the national standards and national technical regulations to share management experiences and promote the application of new technologies for smart city development.
Currently, the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality is building a system of national standards (TCVN) on smart city and LED lighting equipment on the basis of adopting IEC International Standards and referring the foreign standards.
In addition, the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ) is also developing the draft of national technical regulations (QCVN) on LED lighting equipment to fulfill state management responsibilities for this product.
