2D Transition: Enhancing Business Transparency and Efficiency

The International Seminar on 2D Code Transition was held on Jan 21, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event was a collaborative effort between the National Numbering and Barcodes Center and Wipotec GmbH—a leading provider of technology solutions for 2D barcodes to support businesses in implementing Track and Trace projects. Additionally, the seminar was accompanied by Song Song Company Limited, a partner and the exclusive distributor of Wipotec in Vietnam

Attending the seminar were Mr. Nguyen Thien Nghia, Vice President of the Commission for Standards, Metrology, and Quality of Vietnam; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong, Head of Quality Management and Conformity Assessment Department; Mr. Bui Ba Chinh, Director of the National Numbering and Barcodes Center – GS1 Vietnam; and Mr. Ditscher Volker, Director of Global Sales Track & Trace at Wipotec, along with other partners, experts, and business representatives in the region.

During the seminar, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong presented policies and regulations regarding numbering and barcodes, highlighting key updates in the draft amendment to the Law on Product and Goods Quality. Mr. Tran Van Viet, National Numbering and Barcodes Center, emphasized the significance of 2D barcodes in improving transparency and business efficiency and outlined strategies for 2D transition according to GS1 standards, along with specific plans to support businesses in Vietnam to successfully implement the transition. In addition, the solution provider Wipotec presented the digitalization journey and the challenges facing the manufacturing industry, and demonstrated 2D barcode printing and inspection devices.
